- Built a new sanitation system funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Established an optical laboratory with installations of high power and high repetition rate femtosecond and nanosecond lasers.

- Managed a research team (including assistant professors, PhD. students, and M.S. students) for their research.

- Fabricated fecalphobic surfaces, slippery surfaces, superhydrophobic surfaces, and superwicking surfaces.

- Controlled wettability by various techniques: direct one-step laser machining, femtosecond laser ablation + heat treatment, polymer/metal imprinting, chemical coatings, and so on.

- Developed various applications using advanced functional surfaces: water harvesting, anti-corrosion, anti-icing, self-cleaning, anti-feces, anti-bacteria, control of adhesion, water transportation, superwicking, and so on.

  • 2014, The best paper in "Study of Super-hydrophobicity with Micro-pillar Array on Transparent Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) Fabricated by Polymer Casting" in the International Symposium on Green Manufacturing and Applications (ISGMA 2014 held in Busan, Korea).

  • 2012, Silver medal for the highest ranking (#1) in Advanced Materials in the PFIEV program (Vietnamese-French Training Program of excellent Engineers).
